Welcome to Our Board, Tom Armitage and John Babitt

Tom Armitage has a long history with Children’s HeartLink. He served on Children’s HeartLink’s Board of Directors from 1997-2013 and was chair from 2005-2007. In 2014 he served as interim president for 5 months, and he led the organization through the final stages of our last strategic plan. An engineer and medical doctor, Tom is retired after a 25-year career with Medtronic, last serving in the role of vice president of clinical research and regulatory affairs for the Medtronic Structural Heart Disease Business. Tom is also the past president of the Camp Odayin Board of Directors.

John Babitt is a life sciences partner at the EY Minneapolis office. Over his career John has advised both strategic and private equity life science clients on a variety of areas, including M&A, operational matters including integration/separation, commercial assessment and supply chain engagements. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the life sciences and health care sectors, including medical technology, pharma, biotech and life sciences instrumentation/consumables.

Children’s HeartLink saves children’s lives by transforming pediatric heart care in underserved parts of the world. Founded in 1969, we currently support 18 partner hospitals in Brazil, China, India, Malaysia and Vietnam. Last year alone, the medical providers we trained served 177,000 children with heart disease, more than ever before.
