As the pandemic began in early 2020, Children’s HeartLink committed to continuing work with partner hospitals around the world, training health care professionals in advanced cardiac care for children. Our programs team with the support of our many talented medical volunteers built a new curriculum that would translate to remote learning and began delivering training via virtual conferences.
Despite the travel restrictions of the past year, Children’s HeartLink still trained 2,900+ professionals and helped more than 177,000 children worldwide. This was only possible with the generous support of our donors. Will you support our ongoing work with a gift by June 30, our fiscal year-end?
Your donation will help children like Minh, a 4-year-old boy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Minh was just one day old when doctors diagnosed him with a congenital heart defect. Her parents were devastated to learn that their baby would need surgery but were hopeful to learn that a Children’s HeartLink partner hospital in Hanoi had the best doctors and clinicians to treat their son’s condition.
Minh underwent surgery at 4 months of age, then again earlier this year at the age of 4. His parents were appreciative of all the extra precautions the hospital took to keep Minh safe from contracting Covid-19 during his 3-week recovery.
