Meet Davi

Davi’s heart defect was discovered shortly after he was born, leading to his first heart surgery at just one day old. It’s hard to imagine this based on the happy kid he is today — enjoying motorcycles, horses and playing ball.

His complex heart defect required a series of surgeries performed by Dr. Ulisses Croti and the team at Children’s HeartLink Center of Excellence Hospital da Criança e Maternidade in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil.

The road to recovery from open heart surgery was challenging. As he grew, Davi needed more time than other children to learn to sit, walk and talk. But now, his life is no different from the life of any other child. Davi’s story is a testament to resilience and the power of exceptional medical care.
